Dr. Thomas Steger-Hartmann

Working recently as Head of the In Vitro Safety Cluster at Bayer AG, Pharmaceuticals, Germany, a function which comprised more than forty scientists and technicians at two sites I was responsible for early and mechanistic safety assessment of pharmaceuticals. I have more than 28 years of experience in the field of preclinical assessment of pharmaceuticals, early drug development and environmental risk assessment of pharmaceuticals.

I am particularly experienced in the field of contrast agents, hormonal compounds and oncology indications. I am a Eurotox registered toxicologist.I have been involved in several international research collaborations in the field of toxicology and environmental safety (e.g. IMI eTOX, IMI eTRANSAFE) and now lead the new IHI project VICT3R.
